It helps in morale boosting in the work place and even help in augmenting the efficiency of work. These are also given away by the employers to the employees as a reward which can be shown off by them to their colleagues. It is much common in bigger organisations but it is also used in smaller organisations and in the times of downturn, it works as a motivator to work even better. Getting a coin or lapel pins would make them feel like that they belong to certain group which helps them to work with pride and it triggers the feeling of belongingness and sense of unity.
